“Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit.”
— Zechariah 4:6
Our Mission
Riding by the Spirit invites horse people into simple, Scripture-centered moments with God so they learn to trust the Holy Spirit — not their own strength — and walk with Jesus in every season of riding and life.
What We Believe
The Bible
We believe the Bible is the inspired, authoritative Word of God, completely trustworthy and sufficient to teach us what is true and how to live.
God – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit
We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God is the Creator of all things and worthy of all worship.Jesus Christ
We believe Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, fully God and fully man, who was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died on the cross for our sins, rose bodily from the dead, and will return in glory. The Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit draws people to Jesus, gives new life, lives in every believer, and empowers us to follow Christ—not by our own might or power, but by His Spirit.
Humanity and Sin
We believe all people are created in God’s image and deeply loved by Him, yet all have sinned and are separated from God apart from His grace.
Salvation by Grace through Faith
We believe salvation is a free gift of God’s grace, received through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ alone—not by our good works or efforts. The Church and Everyday Discipleship
We believe all who trust in Jesus are part of His worldwide Church and are called to grow as disciples, walking with Him in every area of life—including our riding and stewardship of our animals—and encouraging one another in love.
About Stephanie
Stephanie is the heart and voice behind Riding by the Spirit Ministries, a Bible-centered outreach for equestrians who want simple, Scripture-centered moments with God in the midst of everyday riding and barn life. Based in the Bay Area, California, she came to horses as an adult with almost no experience, but the Lord graciously ordered her steps—first through a safe, steady first horse, and later through Fame, a young Drum gelding who would grow into the trail partner featured in many Riding by the Spirit videos.
Over the years, through things like concussions, ER visits, and the ups and downs of learning horsemanship, trail riding, horse camping, and barn community, God has used Stephanie’s love of horses to teach her about His character, His protection, and His gentle, persistent love. After having a baby in 2022, He also met her in the vulnerable season of returning to riding postpartum, inviting her to trust Him afresh with her body, fears, and time.
For Stephanie, being in the saddle—especially out on the trail—has become a really special place to notice God’s beauty, remember that He actually delights in His people (Zephaniah 3:17), and practice trusting Him with all her heart instead of trying to figure everything out on her own (Proverbs 3:5–6). She also stewards a separate YouTube channel, Happier on a Horse, focused on responsible horsemanship and trail adventures, where her desire is to care well for the horses God has entrusted to her.
Through Riding by the Spirit, Stephanie simply wants to bring her love for Jesus and her love for horses together, and come alongside other equestrians who want to lean on the Holy Spirit—not just their own strength—as they walk with Jesus in every season of riding and life.
